A New Hope indeed.

It's no secret that Star Wars has shaped the lives of nerds worldwide.
The original Episode Four not only marked a new epoch in the somewhat esoteric culture of geeks; its fanbase also included a surprisingly large amount of "Normal People".
Rest assured that not a single well-adjusted, socially adept person was involved in the making of:

STAR WARS EPISODE FOUR - ASCII VERSION.

In my Operating Systems class, we've recently been looking at command lines.
For any of my classmates currently reading this, here's a chance to put your newly-acquired skills to the test:

1) Open the Run menu. (Access through Start > Run or just press Windows Key + R)
2) Type in "telnet". (No quotation marks)
3) If you did this correctly, you should be faced with something resembling this:

4) Type in "o towel.blinkenlights.nl". (Once again, no quotation marks)
5) Press Enter.
6) Sit back and enjoy.

Outtakes from key scenes:

May the Force be with you.

Yes, I agree with you on Star Wars Mick. Agggghhhh! I remember it like it was yesterday....I was 9 years old when Star Wars came out, I saw it at the movies 18 times, even sat outside so I could listen to it. Wow. People would stand up and cheer and clap at the end of it...it was a great time...but that was before the dark times, before the empire....before 'The Phantom Meanace!"
Ok. People try to reduce the woe's of the phantom menace and blame it on Jar Jar Binks. Not so! My theory is that Jar Jar deserves a medal or something for trying to inject a little humour into it. It was forced upon him really. George was so determined to portray Jedi as stone faced regal knights devoid of humour, that any humour that was going to be in the movie fell upon one sole comic relief. ie. Jar Jar Binks.
The Jedi ended up looking so bad as a result. Poor old Jar Jar, here he is left carrying the burden of trying to inject humour into this terrible movie, and how does he get treated by these 'regal' Jedi? Obi Wan refers to him as a 'pathetic life form' and Qui Gon humiliates him at dinner by grabbing his tounge and ordering him not to eat like that! Come on!!!! He's an alien! Thats how he eats for goodness sake!!!!! What if Jar Jar grabbed Qui Gon's tounge and ordered him not to eat his way?!
Lets face it, Darth Maul did us all a favour by killing Qui Gon, but if he only had of taken care of that kid Anakin as well! Darth Vader should have matured into a truely vicious and evil character....what did we get instead? Anakin grows up to suffer from teen angst and lashes out at everyone. Sorry....making Anakin wear dark eyeliner and changing his tan go go boots for black ones just didn't cut it for me.
As for Jedi's not being able to tell the Chancellor was really the big Sith cheese....well....thats a whole different story.
